William "Bill" Lenz

William F. "Bill" Lenz, age 70, of Austin, passed away Monday, October 17, 2011 at his home. Bill was born May 12, 1941 in Stewartville, Minnesota to William and Evelyn Lenz. He grew up in Austin. Bill married Dixie Joy Burton of Austin on February 3, 1962. To this union of love and patience was born two sons, Daniel and Brian. Bill worked for Hormel Foods for 40 years until his retirement in 2003. He was a loving father and grandfather and he will be missed by all. Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Dixie, of Austin; two sons, Dan (Edie), of Austin and special granddaughter, Maddie; Brian (Angie), of Albert Lea; brothers, Warren, of Rochester; Mark (Nancy), of Austin; many friends; nieces and nephews; aunts, uncles and cousins; all of whom he dearly loved. He is preceded in death by his parents; sister-in-law, Bonnie. A memorial service will be held 11:00 am on Friday, October 21, 2011 at St. Olaf Lutheran Church with Rev. Ron Barnett officiating. The family will greet friends one hour before the service at the church on Friday. Arrangements by Mayer Funeral Home.
