Wayne David Benson

Wayne David Benson, age 54, of Blooming Prairie, Minnesota, passed away Wednesday, December 28, 2022, at his home in rural Blooming Prairie. Wayne was born September 6, 1968, to David and Janet (Samplawski) Benson in Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin where his father was working on the pipeline. His parents felt it was important to be closer to family, so in 1969 the family moved to the Blooming Prairie area. Wayne attended school in Blooming Prairie, graduating in 1987. He made his living farming and also worked for the Hollandale Marketing Association for many years. Wayne loved farming and working, especially with his cattle; the heifers were known as “the girls.” In his spare time, Wayne enjoyed working on tractors; he and his brother, Dan restored a Farmall 400. He also enjoyed listening to polka music. Wayne was known as a man of few words, easy going, and was very gentle.

Survivors include his mother, Janet Benson; brother, Dan (Carla Masching) Benson; nephew, Timothy Benson; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, David Benson; sister, Nancy Ann Benson; grandparents; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
