Walter Benesh

Walter Benesh age 95 of Austin, passed away Saturday, June 20, 2020 at Comforcare in Austin. Walter was born in 1925 the son of Edward and Iva Benesh in Myrtle, MN. He graduated from Austin High School. Walter then serves in the US Coast Guard. He met Lois Patterson and the couple was married in 1949. They enjoyed 70 years of marriage together. Walter was a lifelong farmer northeast of Austin. He loved to read. He was also very mechanically gifted and had the ability to fix almost anything. Upon retirement, Walter and Lois enjoyed traveling together. They took trips to Europe and traveled throughout the United States. Walter will be missed by his family along with his wonderful sense of humor. He is survived by his loving wife, Lois; daughters, Sharon Bruessel, Bonnie (Mike) McNeil and Marlys (Roger) Benesh; grandsons, Brent, Jeremy, Emerson and Nolan; step grandsons, Aaron and Perry; great grandchildren, Denver, Madelin and Kaitlin; loving relatives and friends. Private family graveside service. Cards in memory of Walter may be sent to Mayer Funeral Home.
