Voral Zdenek

Voral Marie Zdenek, age 96, of Rose Creek, died Tuesday, December 14, 2010 at the Adams Healthcare Center. Voral was born May 14, 1914 in Belmond, Iowa to Ralph and Ardelia (Dipple) Thayer. On December 17, 1935 she was united in marriage to Joseph Zdenek at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. She was a farmer and a homemaker. Voral was a member of the Congregational Church in Rose Creek. She enjoyed dancing, cards, traveling, gardening and crafts. Survivors include her daughter, Ardella M. Bahr, Nesbit, MS; two grandchildren, Kim (Jeff) Langer, North Mankato, Kory (Anna) Brown, Eagan; six great grandchildren; brother, Orval Thayer, Rockwell, IA; nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Joseph Zdenek on December 29, 1975; brother, Gayle Thayer. Funeral services will be held 2:00 pm on Saturday, December 18, 2010 at Mayer Funeral Home with Pastor Dave Hoot officiating. Friends may call one hour before the serivce at Mayer Funeral Home on Saturday. Interment will be in Rose Creek Enterprise Cemetery.
