Virginia Lammers

Virginia Lammers, 85, Of Rose Creek died Thursday, March 14, surrounded by her family. Virginia was born May 23, 1927 in Windom Township, Mower County Minnesota. She was the daughter of Tony and Olive Fruth. Virginia was raised in Rose Creek and Grand Meadow Minnesota. She graduated from Grand Meadow High School. She was employed at several local banks. On June 12, 1951 she married Bernard Lammers at St. Finbarr's Catholic Church in Grand Meadow. They moved to the family farm outside of Adams, Minnesota. To this union 4 children were born. Virginia was a dedicated homemaker, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She participated in many clubs and organizations, including Mower County Farm Bureau and Marshall Township Board for 25 years. She was a member of the St. Peter's Church Rosary Society, Literary Club, Crochet Club, Card Clubs, Austin Artist Series, and Silver Star Project Club to name a few. She was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church. She enjoyed knitting and crocheting and spending time with family and friends. Survivors include her husband, Bernard Lammers of Rose Creek. Daughters: Jeanne (Doug) Parmenter of Austin, Diane (Merle) Klouse of Rose Creek, Monica (Jim) Prihoda of Blooming Prairie, and Son David (Crystal) Lammers of Adams. There are 7 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. She is survived by one brother, Joe (Bonnie) Fruth of Boulder, Colorado and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She is preceded in death by her parents, Tony and Olive Fruth, Sisters Madeline Ruud, Frances Otto, Eleanor Majerus, and brothers Lawrence and Vince Fruth. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated 3:00 pm on Sunday, March 17, 2013 at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Rose Creek with Father Tom Loomis officiating. There will be a 2:30 pm wake service on Saturday at Mayer Funeral Home where friends may call from 2-5 pm and also one hour before the service at the church on Sunday. Interment will be in St. Peter's Cemetery. Condolences may be left online at www.mayerfh.com.
