Victor Ellis

Victor C. Ellis, age 93, formerly of Austin, died Saturday, March 26, 2011 at Madonna Towers in Rochester. Victor was born October 1,1917 in Mankato, Minnesota to Charles and Helgena (Nerby) Ellis. He married Fern Nelson and they later divorced. Victor served in the U.S. Army during World War II, and was an employee of Hormel Foods for 36 years. He was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church, the V.F.W. and American Legion (past commander), and Ramsey Golf Club. He enjoyed golfing, fishing and bowling. Survivors include his two children, Brian (Carol) Ellis, Coon Rapids, Susan (Doug) Walter, Austin; five grandchildren, Jennifer Ellis, Burnsville, Kristin (Alex) Roberson, Paradise, CA, Casey (Jessica) Walter, Minneapolis, Joel (Bailey) Walter, Rochester, Cody Walter, Mankato; two great grandchildren, Arianna and Gabriel. He is preceded in death by his parents; three brothers; three sisters. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11:00 am on Tuesday, March 29, 2011 at St. Augustine Catholic Church with Father Joe Fogal officiating. Friends may call one hour before the service at the church on Tuesday. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery with military rites by American Legion Post #91. Memorials are preferred to any veterans organization or donor's choice. Arrangements by Mayer Funeral Home.
