Thomas Rosenthal

Thomas Robert Rosenthal, 53, was taken from us suddenly and unexpectedly on February 4, 2020. Tom was born to Darrell and Lorraine Rosenthal on November 20, 1966 in Austin, MN. He attended Catholic grade school and was a graduate of Pacelli High School’s class of 1985 and attended Riverland Community College. Following his graduation, Tom brought his aptitude for technology and his attention to detail to his family business, Rosenthal’s Flooring & Decorating. Tom was a skilled tile setter, carpet layer and interior designer. There wasn’t anything with a circuit board or an engine he couldn’t fix. Tom had a passion for photography and liked to play both guitar and piano by ear. Tom’s greatest joy and proudest accomplishment is his daughter Emily. He worked hard to be a good father and was overjoyed to become a grandfather this past fall. Tom is loved and missed by many, most especially his daughter, Emily Rosenthal, LeRoy, MN; son, Joseph Morse (Andrea Soiney), Austin, MN; mother, Lorraine Rosenthal (Greg Morales), Roseville, MN; brother, David Rosenthal, Roseville, MN; sister, Tina Rosenthal (William), Monosmith, Roseville, MN; granddaughter, Reign Rosenthal, LeRoy, MN; grandson, (due May 2020) Connor Morse; niece, Elizabeth (Josh) Haase, Blooming Prairie, MN; nephew, Isaac Rosenthal, Rochester, MN; great nephews, Oliver Monosmith, Leo Monosmith and Cade Haase; former wife, Athena Morse; aunt, Marlene (Gene) Seavey; and many cousins. He is preceded in death by his father, Darrell Rosenthal; his grandparents; uncles and aunts. Tom will be carried into eternal rest by pallbearers David Rosenthal, Tina Rosenthal Monosmith, Joseph Morse, Isaac Rosenthal, Jeff Titus and John Howe. Honorary pallbearer, Tom’s godson, Oliver Monosmith. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated 10 am on Saturday, February 8, 2020 at St. Augustine Catholic Church with Father James Steffes officiating. Friends may call from 5-7 pm on Friday at Mayer Funeral Home and also one hour before the service at the church on Saturday. Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery in Oakland.
