Shirley Bernadine Morgan

Shirley Bernadine Morgan, age 83, of Austin, Minnesota, passed away on Friday, February 14, 2025, at Good Samaritan Society – Comforcare in Austin. Shirley was born on March 12, 1941, in Clinton, Iowa, to Francis and Martha (Mussmann) O’Connor. She graduated high school from Mt. St. Clare Academy in Clinton, Iowa.

On July 18, 1964, Shirley married Gary Morgan in Clinton. Following their marriage, the couple made their home in Austin, Minnesota, where they raised their three children. Shirley was a devoted mother and homemaker who cherished her family. 

Shirley was the proud leader of the Cedar River Rabbit Club and raised Californian rabbits for over 40 years. She served as a project leader for the Mower County 4-H and was an active member of Our Lady of Loretto Catholic Church.

In addition to her passion for rabbits, Shirley found joy in tending to her beautiful 2-acre garden.

Survivors include her children, Thomas (Emma) Morgan of Austin, Minnesota, Damon (Shari) Morgan of Austin, Minnesota, and Christopher (Heidi) Morgan of Brownsdale, Minnesota; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and sister, Rosella Hilbert. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, Francis and Martha O’Connor; husband, Gary in 2013; and sister, Mary Alice Schroeder.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Shirley will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 22, 2025, at Queen of Angels Catholic Church in Austin, Minnesota, with Father Thien Nguyen officiating. The visitation will take place one hour prior to Mass on Saturday. Interment will be in Grandview Cemetery, Austin. Worlein-Hoff Funeral Homes of Austin are assisting the family with arrangements.
