Shirley Ann Doocy Hagan Fenstermaker, age 88 of Austin, Minnesota, passed away on Tuesday, March 25, 2025, at St. Mark’s Nursing Home, Austin, surrounded by her loving family. Shirley was born on June 21, 1936, the daughter of Timothy and Kathryn (McGuire) Doocy in Ledyard, Iowa. She graduated from Ledyard High School. Shirley was united in marriage to Bernard Hagan in 1958 and they later divorced. They were blessed with six children. On February 14, 1997, Shirley married Darrel Eugene Fenstermaker in Las Vegas. Throughout her life, Shirley had various jobs. She was a carhop on skates at the A&W in Ledyard, waitress at the Bluehaven in Brownsdale, and 39 years of bartending and managing The Keg in Brownsdale. Shirley was a member of the Women’s Auxiliary of the VFW.

Survivors include her husband, Darrel Fenstermaker and his children; her children, Randy (Kathy) Hagan, Sheryl (William) Hertle, Brenda (Wayne) Nelson, Kimberly Hagan, Jason (Tiffany) Hagan; daughter-in-law Joyce (Kevin) Clutter Hagan; grandchildren, Maggie (Sebastian) Bustos, Michael (Ashley) Hertle, Kristy (Josh) Ruhter, Lisa (Bruce) Parker, Nicholas Canfield, Kurstin (Chris) Laskewitz, Kaitlin (Jacob) Smith, Kara (Daniel) Nelson, Kayla (Nicholas) Knutson, Zachary Wilder, Sadie Hagan, Leanna (Jason) Hrabak; 23 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; siblings, Diane Doocy Krosch, Georgia (Carlyle) Engelby, and Thomas Doocy; and sisters-in-law, Patti Doocy and Evelyn Doocy.

Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, Timothy and Kathryn Doocy; brothers, Joseph (Eunice) Doocy, James (Ruth) Doocy, Dennis Doocy, Patrick Doocy; sisters, Marjorie (James) Smith, Alice (Sylvester) Kockler, Kathryn (Vincent) Engelby, Delores (Roger) Schwab; son, Kevin (Joyce) Hagan; great-great-grandson Lorenzo Bustos.

The family wishes to extend their sincere gratitude for the wonderful care and compassion given by the great staff at St. Mark’s Nursing Home and St. Croix Hospice.

A memorial service for Shirley will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 3, 2025, at Worlein-Hoff Funeral Home in Austin. The visitation will take place one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Alzheimer’s Association, Disabled American Veterans (DAV), or recipient of donor’s choice. Worlein-Hoff Funeral Homes of Austin are assisting the family with arrangements.
