Rosella Gerber

Rosella M. (Felten) Gerber, age 91, of Austin, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family at St. Mark's Lutheran Home on Sunday, January 20, 2013. Rosella was born November 7, 1921 in Nevada Township, Mower County, Minnesota to John B. and Elizabeth Felten. She received her high school education in Rose Creek, Minnesota, graduating in 1939. Rosella married Leonard Aanonson on August 2, 1941 at Queen of Angels Catholic Church in Austin. The couple were married for 33 years at the time of Leonard's death in 1974. They farmed early in the marriage before moving to Austin in 1950. Rosella enjoyed working in sales at both the Woolworth Company and Wallace's Department Store. In 1978, Rosella married Raymond Gerber. Raymond passed away in 1983. Rosella will be remembered for her quick wit and unique, clever expressions. She enjoyed playing cards, bowling, dancing, mcasino gambling, music, and traveling throughout the United States, Canada, Mexico, and Europe. Her life was rich with time spent with family, which she loved dearly. Survivors include her two daughters, Barb Langan, Austin, MN, Joanne (Huey) Helder, Rochester, MN; six grandchildren; four great grandchildren; three brothers, LaVerne (Jane) Felten, Austin, MN, John F. (Barb) Felten, Rose Creek, MN, Arnold (Linda) Felten, Rose Creek, MN; a sister, Dolores (Bob) Campbell, DePere, WI. In addition to her husbands, she is preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Harold and Edward Felten; son-in-law, James Langan; great grandson, Ryan Langan. A Celebration of Life will be held 1:00 pm on Saturday, January 26, 2013 at St. Augustine Catholic Church with Father James Steffes officiating. There will be a 4 pm CCW rosary and a 6:30 pm wake service on Friday at Mayer Funeral Home where friends may call from 4-7 pm and also one hour before the service at the church on Saturday.
