Roger Allen Pfeifer

Roger Allen Pfeifer, age 78, of Blooming Prairie, passed away on Sunday, August 25, 2024, at Birchwood Cottages in Owatonna, Minnesota. Roger was born January 1, 1946, in Owatonna to Frank and Malvina (Madson) Pfeifer. Roger was baptized and confirmed at Westfield Lutheran Church near Blooming Prairie and graduated from Blooming Prairie High School in 1964. On September 9, 1967, he was united in marriage to Janet Kay Jech. They were married for 55 years until her death on January 28, 2023. Together they raised three children. Roger worked on the family farm his entire life as well as serving in the Minnesota Army National Guard for a total of 8 years. Farming was his passion as they had milk cows, pigs, and chickens throughout the years as well as crop farming. He also enjoyed being involved in the Westfield Lutheran Church restoration project with his family and neighbors. He was probably known best for his joking sense of humor and always had a smile on his face. Roger will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. 

Survivors include his children, Jason Pfeifer of Rochester, Shannon (Randy) Kruckeberg of Claremont, and Brad Pfeifer of Blooming Prairie; seven grandchildren, Brandon, Hunter, Haven, Jessica (Michael), Alex, Emma (Peyton) and Ava; one great-grandson, Henry. He was preceded in death by his wife, Janet; parents, Frank and Malvina; and siblings, Melford, Anna, Florence, Margarett, Marvin, Frank, and Tillie.

A funeral service for Roger will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 3, 2024, at First Lutheran Church in Blooming Prairie, Minnesota. The visitation will take place one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be in Westfield Cemetery, rural Blooming Prairie. Worlein-Hoff Funeral Home in Blooming Prairie is assisting the family with arrangements.
