Robert Byrnes

Robert L. Byrnes, age 81 of Austin, Minnesota, passed away Monday, April 13, 2020, at Comfort Care in Austin. He was born to Robert J. & Olive Francis Byrnes on January 12, 1939 in Boston, Massachusetts. Robert grew up on the East coast and attended high school in Arlington Va., graduating with the Class of 1957. After high school, he served in the Air Force _with the 8th Airforce Proudly. In the late 60’s, Robert began working as an Air traffic controller for the FAA. His favorite past times included working with computers, sailing, flying his 172., and he was also a member of AAOPA for plane owners.  In addition to enjoying those hobbies, Robert’s biggest passion was Making his wife happy.  He was truly one of the most generous people in the world, and everyone treasured his amazing, one of a kind personality.  Robert will be most remembered for his big loving heart.

Robert is survived by his children; Michael Fike, Douglas Fike, Nicholas Byrnes, Robert Byrnes, Jr., Michelle Davis, Merrideth Fike, Jeffrey Byrnes. And 17 grandchildren 5 Great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by parents Father Robert j. Byrnes; Mother Olive f. Byrnes; Wife Georgia Lynn Byrnes.

A Memorial service will to be held at a later date. Worlein Funeral Home of Austin is assisting the family with arrangements.
