Reta Rohde

Reta M. Rohde, age 85 of Austin, Minnesota, passed away Sunday, January 3, 2021 at The Cedars of Austin. Reta May Rohde, daughter of George and Millie (Barnett) Rohde, was born July 28, 1935 in Austin, Minnesota. She attended school in Mona, Iowa and graduated from Lyle High School in Lyle, Minnesota. For 25 years, Reta worked as a nurse’s aide at Good Samaritan Society - Comforcare in Austin. She loved children and became a daycare provider for many families. Reta was an avid collector of owls and enjoyed helping others. Above all Reta loved her family and cherished her time spent with them, especially caring for her many nieces and nephews. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Survivors include her brother, Duane Rohde of Maplewood, Minnesota; sister, Rosella (Richard) Haglund of St. Ansgar, Iowa; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Millie Rohde; eight brothers; and two sisters.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 6, 2021 at Worlein Funeral Home Chapel in Austin. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, the funeral home is limited to 57 people for the service. Visitation will take place from 1:30-2:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home on Wednesday. Interment will be in Grandview Cemetery, Austin. Masks, social distancing, and all COVID-19 protocol will be enforced. Services are prearranged and performed with Worlein Funeral Home of Austin.
