Raymond Kolb

Raymond Joseph Kolb, 63, of Austin, Minnesota, died January 19, 2018 at home with his mother by his side. Ray was born May 14, 1954 in Austin to Duane and Donna (Schocker) Kolb. He grew up in Austin and graduated from Austin High School. In 1985 he married Judy Brandt and they were blessed with two children. This union was later dissolved. He served three and half years in the Austin National Guard. Ray worked at Land O’Lakes for 30 years, he traveled with Dale Merriam Midway for many years, and delivered Winnebago RVs around the United States. Ray also worked for Quality Pork in Austin and Armour in Wells. He loved to call into “Time to Trade” where he was known as “Gas Can Man,”go fishing, camping, helping others and spending time with family. He was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church. He is survived by his children, Christina Kolb, Medford, MN, Chasity (Brian) Martin, Grand Forks, ND, and Chad Kolb, Minot, ND; three grandchildren, Zachary, Alexis and Matthew; his mother, Donna Kolb, Austin, MN; sisters, Rose (Gerald) Grunig, Peoria, AZ, and Renee (Randy) Escherich, Kiester, MN; brothers, Rodney (Pat) Kolb, Wabasha, MN, and Ralland Kolb, Austin, MN; uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and his best friend Jerry Lee. He was preceded in by his father, Duane; his brother, Russell; and grandparents. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11 am on Wednesday, January 24, 2018 at St. Augustine Catholic Church with Father Jim Steffes officiating. There will be a 5 pm wake service on Tuesday at Mayer Funeral Home where friends may call from 4-7 pm and also one hour before the service at the church on Wednesday. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery.
