Ralph Edward Wilson

Ralph Edward Wilson, age 90, of Austin, Minnesota, went to his heavenly home on Sunday, April 13, 2025. He was born in Austin, Minnesota, on January 25, 1935, to Archie and Harriet (Christopherson) Wilson. Ralph graduated from Rose Creek High School in 1953. He was united in marriage to his high school sweetheart, Janice Gomer, on December 11, 1955. Together the couple raised six sons and one daughter.

Ralph was a full-time grain farmer and did construction work during the winter months. He was also a seed salesman for Pioneer Seed Company for 20 years. Ralph was a member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Austin and served as treasurer for Windom Township for many years.

Ralph enjoyed bowling and golfing and was an avid fan of both the Minnesota Vikings and Twins. He loved going on numerous cruises with Janice to destinations including the Holy Land, pyramids of Egypt, and many others. Ralph was a devoted family man who took great pride in watching his children and grandchildren excel in basketball, both in high school and college. He also loved taking family fishing vacations at Bowstring Lake in Minnesota. He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Survivors include his loving wife of 69 years, Janice, who was his sole caregiver for the last 21 months with help from his sons, Dan and David. He is further survived by his seven children, Edward (Mary), Dan (Marie), Larry (Tammy), Diane (Monte) Strouf, Robert (Donna), James (Kris), and David (Beth); 15 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his grandson, Chad Wilson; parents, Archie and Harriet Wilson; sister and brother-in-law, Vivian and Harvey Iverson; and brother, Lee Wilson.

Ralph’s family would like to extend a special thank you to Mayo Hospice for the wonderful care they gave him.

A funeral service for Ralph will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 19, 2025, at Worlein-Hoff Funeral Home in Austin. The visitation will take place one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, rural Dexter, Minnesota. Memorials are preferred to Parkinson’s disease research. Worlein-Hoff Funeral Homes of Austin are assisting the family with arrangements.
