Myles (Rabe) Rayburn Ruble, 96, passed away Saturday, November 2, 2019 at Sacred Heart Care Center in Austin, MN. Myles was born April 12th 1923 in Moscow Township to John D. and Inger Ruble (Peterson). He graduated from Austin High School in 1940. Myles joined the United States Army on March 20th 1943 and served as a Military Policeman and Foreman of the Automotive Repair Shop in the Asiatic-Pacific Theatre. He was honorably discharged as a Tech Sgt. on April 25th, 1946. While in the service, Myles met his dream girl (the love of his life) Dorothy Pogreba at a dance in Minneapolis, MN. They were married shortly thereafter at the Cathedral of St. Paul on January 15, 1944. Myles was an exceptionally skilled Auto Mechanic. Upon Returning to Austin after his Military Service, he & Ray Bennett Partnered in business, owning & operating Bennett & Ruble Auto Repair in Oakland, MN. Later he went to work for H & S Carburetor & Electric Service. Retiring in 1984, Myles & Dorothy moved to Lake Wales Florida where he went back to work as the Maintenance Director at Highland Park Country Club. They returned to Austin in 1994. Myles was a member of Queen of Angels Church and the American Legion. He enjoyed spending time with his family, playing the piano, boating, fishing & water skiing. Myles is survived by his daughters, Joan Parody, Orlando, FL, Deanna Weis, Austin, MN, Mary Flaherty (Mike) Austin, MN; 12 grandchildren, Bob Ruble, Jim Ruble, Kelly Connelly, Andrew Sudbury, Nick Parody, John Weis, Deidre Smith, Sarah Weis, Angela Weber, Michael Flaherty, Ashley Flaherty, Mariel Flaherty; 13 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren. Myles is preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Ruble; son, Douglas Ruble; parents, John and Inger Ruble; 3 brothers, Jim, Dick, Donald Ruble; sister, Lorraine Forthun; son-in-law, Dan Weis. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11 am on Saturday, November 9, 2019 at Queen of Angels Catholic Church with Father Raul Silva officiating. There will be a 5:30 pm rosary on Friday at Mayer Funeral Home where friends may call from 5-7 pm and also one hour before the Mass at the church on Saturday. Military rites will be by American Legion Post #91 and V.F.W. Post #1216. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery. Condolences may be left online at www.mayerfh.com
