Michael Klingfus

Michael George Klingfus, age 56 of Austin, Minnesota, passed away Wednesday, October 23, 2019 at his home in Austin, Minnesota. Mike was born May 1, 1963 in Austin, Minnesota, to LaVern and Ruby (Simonson) Klingfus. He was a lifelong Austin resident and a former member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, where he was baptized and confirmed. Mike attended Austin High School and graduated in 1981. Following High School Mike completed a diesel mechanic degree at Alexandria Vocational Technical Institute. Mike worked around the region as a mechanic, farm-hand, and heavy equipment operator.  Favorite activities growing up were family get-togethers up north, deer and grouse hunting, target shooting, and collecting numerous automobiles and equipment in need of repair.

Survivors include his three brothers, Tim (Carla) Klingfus, Joe (Sara) Klingfus, and Tom (Karla) Klingfus; nieces and nephews, Tyler (Erica) Klingfus, Hannah Klingfus, Samuel Klingfus, Nora Klingfus, and Isaiah Klingfus. He was preceded in death by his parents, LaVern and Ruby Klingfus.

Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, November 1, 2019 at Worlein Funeral Home Chapel in Austin. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Friday. Interment will be in Grandview Cemetery, Austin. Worlein Funeral Home of Austin is assisting the family with arrangements.
