Mark William Meany, 54, son of John Matthew Meany and Novella Ann (Castle) Meany and lifelong resident of Rose Creek, Minnesota, passed away Monday, September 5, 2016 of natural causes. Mark grew up on the Meany farm, founded over 150 years ago. After graduating from Southland Senior High School in 1980, he attended the University of Minnesota Technical College in Waseca where he played football and graduated with an Associate Degree in Agriculture. Mark was passionate about maintaining the Meany family farming legacy and returned home. During this time he also took a job working with Green Giant where he met his wife, Lyn. They married in 1990 and had three daughters. Mark was devoted to providing a traditional agriculture based upbringing for his family with outings including driving along local fields, tending a hog nursery, and traveling to National Growers Conventions together. Mark could always be counted on to know all statistics of the Twins and Vikings at any given time. An avid card player, he attended his weekly card games as devoutly as he attended church. Mark felt the happiest when he was making his friends and family laugh through his infamous jokes and stories. Anyone who knew Mark understood his undying devotion to those who needed help.
