Marcella "Pat" Maxon

Marcella "Pat" Maxon, age 84, of Austin, died Saturday, December 17, 2011 at Comforcare Good Samaritan Center. Pat was born August 6, 1927 in New Hampton, Iowa to Clarence and Marie Linkemeyer. She was united in marriage to Clarence Kittleson and had one son. They later divorced and she married Vern Maxon, they had a daughter. Vern died in 1993. Pat was a member of First United Methodist Church in Austin. She enjoyed cooking, camping, fishing, and traveling. Pat was a life time member of the V.F.W. Women's Auxiliary. Survivors include her daughters, Patti (Fred) Krofta, Austin, Alicia (Gaylord) Johnson; five grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; sisters, Alice Anderson, Deloris (Glen) Soderstrom; nieces and nephews; brother-in-law, Lloyd Maxon; sisters-in-law, Arlene Pike, Loretta Maxon. In addition to her husband, she is preceded in death by her parents; son, Clarence. Graveside services will be held 2:00 pm on Wednesday, December 21, 2011 at Oakwood Cemetery. A service of remembrance will be held 9:30 am on Sunday, January 1, 2012 at First United Methodist Church. The family will greet friends at a luncheon at the Hormel Historic Home following the service at the church. Arrangements by Mayer Funeral Home.
