Lorraine Hazel Morlan

Lorraine Hazel Morlan passed away peacefully on Monday, August 14, 2023, at St. Mark’s Lutheran Home in Austin, Minnesota. Lorraine was born on October 16, 1929, to Donald and Hazel Stahl in Le Sueur, Minnesota.  She attended and graduated from Le Sueur High School and began her career in the banking field at National Citizens Bank in Mankato, Minnesota. She worked there until she married James R. Miller. They had one son, Daniel. After they divorced in 1961, she went to work at Norwest Bank (now Wells Fargo).  She married Earl Wayne Morlan in 1980. They retired in 1985. Wayne and Lorraine made their home between Arizona and their lake home in Deerwood, Minnesota until Wayne passed away in 1995. Lorraine lived in Kingman, Arizona and Herman, Minnesota, settling in the St. Mark’s Apartments in Austin, Minnesota in 2013. Lorraine loved to read, crochet, play cards and bingo, and watch the Minnesota Twins and Vikings games on TV.

Survivors include her granddaughter, Jacquelyn (Glenn) Engelhaupt; brother, Wesley Stahl; step-children, Bruce Morlan, Burt (Karen) Morlan, and Lori Morlan; grandchildren, Merrick (Kristi) Morlan, Jeremy (Michelle) Morlan, Tony (Lacey) Morlan, Leslie (Bradley) Weber, Eric (Jessica) Morlan, and Samantha Mozey; great grandchildren, Stanton, Wyatt, Parker, and Hudson Engelhaupt, Lily and Logan Morlan, Charles, Matthew, and Andrew Weber, and Ruby and Beatrix Morlan-Beske; and many cousins.  Lorraine was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne; parents; brothers, Vernon Stahl, Harold Stahl; sister, Donna Stahl; and her son, Daniel Miller.

Private interment will be in Bay Lake Cemetery, near Deerwood, Minnesota.

Lorraine chose this message to share with family and friends…

“You will not see me but I will be there walking beside you.  You will not touch me, yet I will be in your heart and memory always.  Until we meet again live your life fully for life is good and know that I am with you.”
