Leonard Meyer

Leonard Alvin Meyer passed away March 15, 2019 at Mayo Clinic Health Systems- Austin. Leonard was born April 4, 1924 in Wells, Minnesota to Ewald and Lillian (Brandt) Meyer. He had three brothers and one sister. Herb, Norb, Marvin and Adoris. On March 31, 1945 Leonard was united in marriage to Ardell Anderson. Together they had five boys. Leonard owned and operated Meyer’s Locker in Oakland until he retired. He had a love for fishing and being with family and friends. Leonard is survived by his sons; Leonard S. (Barb) Meyer, Oakland, Darrell (Pam) Meyer, Albert Lea; daughter’s-in-law Linda Meyer, Austin, Jill Brua, California; Grandchildren Vicky Meyer; Ricky Meyer, Philip Meyer, Dustin Meyer, Chad Meyer, Kristin Swanson, Adam Meyer, Bridget McCarthy; many grandchildren and great grandchildren He is preceded is death by his parents, Ewald and Lillian Meyer; wife, Ardell; sons, Duane, Bruce and Robert; granddaughter, Brenda. A Memorial Service for Leonard A. Meyer will be held 11 am on Thursday, March 21, 2019 at St. John’s Lutheran Church. Friends may call one hour before the service at the church on Thursday. Interment will be in Hillcrest Cemetery in Albert Lea, Minnesota. condolences may be left online at www.mayerfh.com
