Kenneth Bowe

Kenneth E. Bowe, age 98, of Austin, died Friday, June 10, 2011 at Prairie Meadow in Kasson. Ken was born March 22, 1913 in Owatonna to Byron and Olive Bowe. He graduated from Owatonna High School and was married to Hermia Boysen on June 5, 1937. Ken was employed at the Hormel Meat Packing Company for 44 years. Ken enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing, gardening and time spent at the cabin on Lake Tetonka in Waterville. Survivors include three children, Ronald (Audrey) Bowe, Milaca, Dennis K. (Sherrie) Bowe, Rochester, Cindy (Oren) Hermel, Wausau, WI; eight grandchildren, Sheryl (Gregg) Olson, Steven (Denise) Bowe, Keith Bowe, Karen (Mark) LaDuke, Lorrie (Ted) Alberts, Kory (Holly) Bowe, Nichol (Marc Puyleart) Hermel, Natalie (Corey) Pomranke; 16 great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Gladys Allas, Myrtle Bowe, Nellie Boysen; special friends, Dan and Linda Armagost, Bridget Bowe, Toni Nelson, Virtus and Shirley Ramundt. He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 63 years, Hermia; his brothers, Harold and Stanley Bowe. Funeral services will be held 11:00 am on Tuesday, June 14, 2011 at Grace Lutheran Church with Pastor Jeff Forbes officiating. Friends may call one hour before the service at the church on Tuesday. Interment will be in Oakwood Cemetery. Arrangements by Mayer Funeral Home.
