Joyce Vancamp

Joyce Fern VanCamp, 73, of Rose Creek, Minnesota, died Sunday, July 14, 2013 at the Adams Health Care Center. She was born September 26, 1939 in Minneapolis, Minnesota to Herman and Fern (Trierwiler) Hemgren. Joyce was raised on a farm in Anoka, Minnesota along with two brothers. She moved to Austin and married Virgil VanCamp in 1963. They had three children together and fostered many children for nineteen years. Joyce enjoyed gardening, sewing and making crafts. She also enjoyed family time and getting together with friends. Joyce was a longtime member of First United Methodist Church. In 2008 she moved to the Adams Health Care Center due to Parkinson's Disease. She is preceded in death by her parents and her brother Charles Hemgren. Survivors include her husband, Virgil VanCamp, Rose Creek, MN; brother, Walter (Dee) Hemgren, Cambridge, MN; step daughter, Sandra VanCamp, Austin, MN; children, Mary (Don) Schott, Winona, MN, Mark (Jeanie) VanCamp, Springfield, MO, Laurie (Ronnie) Christianson, Austin, MN; seven grandchildren, Amanda and Ashley, Springfield, MO, Jessica, Dominique, Elijah, Alexie and Zander, Austin, MN. Joyce will be truly missed by her family and friends. A memorial service will be held 11:00 am on Friday, July 19, 2013 at Mayer Funeral Home with Pastor Marilee Benson officiating. Friends may call one hour before the service at Mayer Funeral Home on Friday. Interment will be in Enterprise Cemetery. Condolences may be left online at www.mayerfh.com
