John Leachman

John Adam Leachman, age 94, of Austin, died Tuesday, February 25, 2020 at Mayo Clinic Health System-Austin. John was born January 4, 1926 in Albert Lea, Minnesota to Frank and Anna (Frank) Leachman. He served in the United States Marine Corps during WWII, was honorably discharged and awarded the Purple Heart. On February 23, 1946 he married Lucille Margaret Sargent. John worked at Hormel as a supervisor and retired in 1982. Survivors include his wife, Lucille Leachman; children, Kim White and Kerry Leachman; grandchildren, Kandice Shaw (Bryce Bergene), Kourtney Shaw, Kea Shaw, Jordan White, Kelsie (Josh) Dahlen, Karson Smith; great granddaughter, Kastiella Shaw; special nephews, Barry (Donna) Waller, Bruce Waller and Brian (Lisa) Waller. Private services are being planned with interment in the Veterans State Cemetery in Preston, Minnesota. Condolences may be left online at www.mayerfh.com
