Jerome A. "Jerry" Wesely, age 85, of Austin, died Sunday, May 13, 2012 at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester, MN. Jerry was born December 17, 1926 in Steele County to Frank and Mary (Simeck) Wesely. Jerry attended and graduated from Owatonna High School. On May 9, 1946 he was united in marrage to Mary Jane Wavrin at Sacred Heart Church in Owatonna. Jerry and Jane had four children. Jerry worked for Northwestern Bell for 38 years in various towns in Southeastern MN. On September 4, 2003 Jerry was united in marriage to Georgia "Dolly" Thiele. They have resided in Austin, MN until his death. Jerry enjoyed fishing, dancing, reading, crossword puzzles and gardening. After Jerry retired he opened a bicycle shop call "The Red Barn". Survivors include his wife Dolly; two sons, Charles (Eunice) and Allan (Nancy) of Austin; two daughters, Patricia (Dr. Kenneth) Thiele of North Mankato and Elaine Wesely of Albert Lea; step sons, Jerome (Kris) Thiele of Modesto, CA, and Galen (Ann) Thiele of Victoria, MN; sisters, Genevieve Keller, Dorothy Schoenert and Mary (David) Kruger; brother, Larry (Bev) Wesely; brother-in-law, Lowell and Marie Wavrin; twenty-two grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; nieces and nephews and his loving pet, "Toby". Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, first wife, Mary Jane in 2002, brothers, Richard and Donald, stepdaughter, Yvonne (Thiele) Bell. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Thursday, May, 17th at Saint Augustine Catholic Church, Austin. There will be a 6:30 pm prayer service on Wednesday evening at Mayer Funeral Home where friends may call from 4 - 7 pm on Wednesday and one hour before the service at the church on Thursday. An honor guard will be provided by the Knights of Columbus Fourth Degree, #1201 of Austin. Interment will be Calvary Cemetery. Memorials: The American Cancer Society or donor's choice.
