Jerome “Jerry” Edward Loew, age 92, of Blooming Prairie, MN, passed away on Wednesday, November 29, 2023, at Prairie Manor Care Center, in Blooming Prairie, MN. Jerry was born on September 21, 1931, in Carroll County, Iowa, to Matthew and Emogene (Otto) Loew. He moved to Minnesota at an early age. From 1950-1953, he served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and was stationed in Fairbanks, Alaska. He was employed with the John Deere Implement dealers in Blooming Prairie, Owatonna, and Austin, Minnesota, and worked part-time for the City of Blooming Prairie, until retiring. After retirement, Jerry and Berniece spent much time traveling in their RV, or on bus trips, to all 50 U.S. states, Canada, and Mexico. They also traveled to several European countries and Central America.
Jerry was a league bowler for many years. Every spring he would join the Loew Brothers Team, to compete in the state tournament from which they brought home a trophy in 1974. Jerry also enjoyed watching NASCAR racing, golf, wild animal shows, and all the westerns on TV, playing cards, going for a drive (even just around town), fishing and hunting.
