Janith Amelia Espe, age 90, of Austin, Minnesota, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 13, 2025. Janith was born on November 26, 1934 to Ernest and Margaret Wolfe. She grew up in the Catholic faith and continued to hold her faith very dearly. She met her sweetheart, Leonard Espe, when he returned from his stint in the United States Army. They married on October 14, 1952.
During their years of marriage, Janith held down the fort (home) but still found time to work with the Girl Scouts as a leader, worked with the Austin Youth Hockey maintaining all of the uniforms, and taking care of grandchildren. Although her children were very important, her grandchildren were her precious gifts.
Janith had many hobbies such as sewing, baking, and especially bingo.
Janith is survived by her daughters, Linda (Rick) Ringling, Joanne Klinger, Sherri (Chet) Iverson, and Susanne (Matt) Stark; 11 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Janith is preceded in death by her husband, Leonard; son, Robert; son-in-law, David Klinger; twin great-grandchildren, Noah and Isabelle; her parents; two brothers; several brothers-in-law; and sisters-in-law.
Janith’s family would like to extend their gratitude to the staff of Sacred Heart Care Center for their compassionate care and to the Mayo Clinic Hospice for their loving support.
Following Janith’s request, a private family service will be held at Worlein-Hoff Funeral Home of Austin. Services are prearranged and performed by Worlein-Hoff Funeral Homes of Austin.
