James Sawdey

James W. Sawdey, age 80, of Austin, Minnesota, passed away peacefully Friday afternoon, February 26, 2021, at Mayo Health System, St. Marys Campus, Rochester, Minnesota. He was born October 24, 1940 in Le Roy, Minnesota to Earl and Jeraldine (Farmer) Sawdey. James grew up in and attended school in Le Roy. Most of his adult life was spent in Austin, Minnesota and he worked for Cedar Valley Services until his retirement. James loved watching old western movies and spending time with his friends.

Survivors include a brother, Gary Sawdey of Austin, Minnesota; sister, Janyce Sawdey of Spring Valley, Minnesota, and many wonderful friends. James was preceded in death by his parents.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, March 8, 2021 at Worlein Funeral Home Chapel in Austin. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, the funeral home is limited to 57 people for the service. Visitation will be a half hour before the service. Interment will be in LeRoy, Minnesota. Masks, social distancing, and all COVID-19 protocol will be enforced. Memorials are preferred to donor’s choice. Worlein Funeral Home of Austin is assisting the family with arrangements.
