Hannah Noel Lager, 24, Atchison, Kansas, and her unborn child Matthias Kolbe Lager died Wednesday, April 24, 2019 as the result of an automobile accident.

A wake service for Hannah and her child, Matthias, will be Saturday, April 27, 2019 at 10:30 A.M. at St. Benedict’s Abbey Church.  They will then be transferred to Blooming Prairie, Minnesota for a wake service on Monday, April 29, 2019 from 4-8 P.M at St. Columbanus Catholic Church in Blooming Prairie, with a prayer service starting at 7 P.M., and a Funeral Mass at 10 A.M. on Tuesday, April 30, 2019 at St. Columbanus Catholic Church. Visitation will be held from 9 A.M. to 10 A.M. prior to the service, with interment to follow the service in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery, Geneva, Minnesota.

Hannah was born December 17, 1994 in Austin, Minnesota, the daughter of Peter and LeAnn (Arndtson) Vogt.  She attended St. Isidore’s Elementary School in Owatonna, MN and graduated from Blooming Prairie High School in MN.  Hannah’s love of the Lord and Catholic faith led her to attend and graduate from Benedictine College in 2017 in Atchison, KS, with a triple major in Education, Spanish, and Theology.

It was at Benedictine that Hannah met the love of her life and future spouse. Hannah and Austin J. Lager were united in marriage on June 16, 2018, in Blooming Prairie, MN. She was an active member of St. Benedict Parish in Atchison, Kansas where her and Austin settled after marriage.

Hannah served for one year as a teacher at Trinity Catholic High School in Hutchinson, KS. She was currently serving as a teacher at the Valley Falls High School and Jefferson County North High School, both in Kansas. There she divided her weekdays as a Spanish instructor.  When she was away from the classroom, she liked to read, paint, bake, and spend time with family. When asked, Hannah described herself in one word, “compassionate.” Her favorite quote was, “whether you think you can or you think you can’t, you’re probably right.”

Survivors include her husband, Austin Lager; her parents, Peter and LeAnn Vogt, Blooming Prairie, MN; siblings, Angela (Joshua) Thoreson, Hollandale, MN; Jonathan Vogt, Oak Grove, MN; Amber (James) Konz, Claremont, MN;  Jacob (Valerie) Vogt, Hayfield, MN; twin Holly (Ethan) Baatz, Jasper, MN; maternal grandparents, Lois Arndtson, Blooming Prairie, MN; Jay & Marilyn Arndtson, Bothel, WA; paternal grandmother, Evelyn Vogt, Rose Creek, MN; and many beloved nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her paternal grandfather and godfather, Leonard Vogt.
