Grace Ferguson

Grace E. Ferguson, age 84, of Austin, died of COPD at Our House Senior Living in Austin on Thursday, January 26, 2012.. Grace was born March 25, 1927 to Elmer and Anna Hallum in Austin and lived her entire life there. On St. Patrick's Day, 1946 she married John H. Ferguson. They lived their entire married life, happily in the house they built together on 5th Avenue NE. They had three children, Pat, Tom, and Judy. Grace devoted her entire life to her family, friends, and neighbors. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her. Survivors include two children, Pat Strand (Tom), Judy Chen (John); seven grandchildren, Kim Strand-Jenni, Kris Strand-Stowe (Bob), Jill Strand-Feeler (Jeff), Laura Chen, Stephen Chen (Victoria), David Chen, Sarah Chen; nine great grandchildren, Jared Johnson, Derrace Samilton, Ivy Johnson, Mya Jenni, Levi Jenni, Kameryn Stowe, Olivia Feeler, Georgia Feeler, Keenan Chen; one great great grandchild, Chase Johnson-Alldredge. She is preceded in death by her husband, John H. Ferguson; son, Tom Ferguson; four siblings, Donna Blaser, Roger Hallum, Joyce Shepherd, Earl Hallum. Funeral services will be held 1:00 pm on Monday, January 30, 2012 at Crane Community Chapel. Interment will be in Grandview Cemetery.
