Gerald Marion Helin, age 75, of Austin, died Wednesday, July 20, 2016 at Our House Memory Care in Austin. Gerald was born September 2, 1940 in Thompson, Iowa where he grew up. He was united in marriage to Doreen Harmon. Gerald worked at Norwest Bank and retired in 1996. He enjoyed fishing, watching the Twins and Vikings, playing cards and spending time with his family. Survivors include his children, Robert Helin, Robyn Arneson, Rebecca (Jay) Burke, Ryan Helin (Cathy Hemann-Winsky); grandchildren, Danielle and Aaron Deyo, Nicholas (Mindy), Mitchell, Michael, Nathan (Haley) Williamson, Dustin and Vannessa Winsky; great-grandchildren; brothers, Denny Helin (Carolyn Cox), Duane Helin (Barb), Kevin (Martha) Helin; sister Sandy (Ernie) Snelling. He is preceded in death by his wife Doreen Helin; parents, Marion and Doris Helin A Memorial Mass will be celebrated 11 a.m. on Saturday, July 23, 2016, at St. Augustine Catholic Church with Father John Traufler officiating.
