George Brudwick

George Steven Brudwick, age 77 of Blooming Prairie, Minnesota, passed away Sunday, February 6, 2022.  George was born on November 12, 1944, in Owatonna to Edward and Emeline (Johnson) Brudwick. He married Connie Kruckeberg, in this union three children were born. The couple later divorced. In 1973, George married Judy Gifford at First Lutheran Church in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, in this union one child was born. He worked as a truck driver early in his career, and ended his career in environmental services, working at Rochester Central Lutheran School and Peace United Church of Christ. George liked “tinkering” in his garage, refurbishing John Deere riding lawn mowers, grilling, camping, relaxing, and doing projects around the house. He loved to spend his time with his wife Judy and his family. His compassionate heart left an imprint on those who knew him.

George is survived by his wife of 48 years, Judy Brudwick; three sons John (Konie) Brudwick of St. Cloud, David (Melissa) Brudwick of Rochester, and Steven (Mary) Brudwick of Rochester; daughter, Lisa (Todd) Nelson of Emmons; nine grandchildren, Chase Brudwick, Mashauna Brudwick, Tanner Brudwick, Keanna Brudwick, Emeline (Daniel) Gillis, Lillian Brudwick, Paige (Brian) Holmgren, Lauren Nelson, and Madison Nelson; siblings Dean (Margo) Brudwick, and Izzy (Mike) Taylor;  brother-in-law, Harold Underwood; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. George is preceded in death by his parents Edward and Emeline Brudwick; sisters, Jeanette Underwood and Shirley Noble.

A memorial service will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, February 11, 2022, at First Lutheran Church in Blooming Prairie, Minnesota. Visitation will take place from 10:00-11:30 a.m. prior to the service. Interment will be at Red Oak Grove Cemetery, Austin at a later date. Worlein Blooming Prairie Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
