Genevieve Reagan

Genevieve Marie Reagan, age 97, resident of Sacred Heart Care Center and formerly of Rose Creek, MN passed away Thursday, December 5th at Mayo Clinic Hospital in Austin surrounded by her loving family. She was born January 19, 1922 the daughter of William and Nellie (Lightley) Sheedy in Oakland, MN. She was raised in Oakland until she moved to Austin to attend high school. She graduated from Austin High School. She was united in marriage to Daniel “Bernard” Reagan on June 4, 1945 at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Austin. The couple farmed in the Rose Creek area and also owned and operated Reagan Bus Company which served the Rose Creek area. Genevieve’s family was first and foremost in her life. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She loved to read, play cards and go dancing. She also played piano. Genevieve was a longtime member of St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Rose Creek. She was preceded in death by her husband Bernard in 1998; son-in-law, Ronald Nelson; special friend, Laverne “Bud” Pike. Genevieve is survived by her children, Mary Nelson of Stockton; CA, Marty (Ginny) Reagan of Omaha, NE; Patricia (Ron) Dillavou of Rose Creek, MN; Bernadine (Terry) Kantola of Cook, MN; Jean (Tom) Clark of Austin, MN; Teresa (Brian) Bergene of Rose Creek, MN; 14 Grandchildren and 25 Great Grandchildren; many loving relatives and friends. The family wishes to extend a special thank you to Genevieve’s many caregivers, the Mayo Clinic Hospital, Mayo Hospice, Sacred Heart Care Center, Primrose and many other loving caregivers throughout her life. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11 AM on Monday, December 9, 2019 at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Rose Creek with Father Greg Leif officiating. Friends may call from 4-6 PM on Sunday at Mayer Funeral Home and also 1 hour before the Mass at the church on Monday. Interment will be in St. Peter’s Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Mayo Hospice.
