Florence Stephani

Florence Catherine Stephani, age 91, of Austin, died Wednesday, April 20, 2011 at the Austin Medical Center. Florence was born December 26, 1919 in Waseca, Minnesota to Joseph and Elizabeth (Krupp) Vogt. She went to school in Adams. On June 22, 1937 she was united in marriage to Alfred J. Stephani at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Adams. Florence was a homemaker. She was a member of Queen of Angels Catholic Church, Quilters Club, volunteer at Sacred Heart Care Center and Austin Medical Center, Church Unit and Funeral Committee. Florence enjoyed needlework (embroidery, crochet and quiliting), reading, gardening, traveling, spending time with her family. Survivors include nine children, Joseph (Sharon) Stephani, Pine City, Juanita Joyce, Plymouth, Mary (Al) Woessner, Byron, Veronica (Mike) Fiest, Marinette, WI, Patricia (Gary) Goodmanson, Urbandale, IA, Theresa (Mark) Murphy, Kissimmee, FL, Sharon (Larry) Houff, Maple Grove, John (Judith) Stephani, Eagan, James (Wendy) Stephani, Owatonna; two daughters-in-law, Kathleen Stephani, Minnetonka, Carol Stephani, Glendale, AZ; 32 grandchildren; 45 great grandchildren; eight great great grandchildren; two brothers, Leonard (Evelyn) Vogt, Rose Creek, Clement (Katherine) Vogt, Fairchild, WI; a sister, Sr. Joseen Vogt, Rochester. She is preceded in death by her husband, Alfred on February 19, 1981; sons, Duane and Sylvan; son-in-law, Robert Joyce; grandson, Neil Woessner; great grandson, Daschel Joyce. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11:00 am on Monday, April 25, 2011 at Queen of Angels Catholic Church with Father Dale Tupper officiating. There will be a 5 pm CCW rosary and a 6 pm wake service on Sunday at Mayer Funeral Home where friends may call from 5-8 pm and also one hour before the service at the church on Monday. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery. Memorials are preferred to Queen of Angels Catholic Church, MS Society, ALS Association or donor's choice.
