F.H. “Bud” Eisterhold, 89, of Brownsdale, passed away while surrounded by his family on Wednesday, September 2, 2015 at Season’s Hospice House in Rochester. Bud was born January 13, 1926 in Pittsville, Wisconsin to George and Dora (Gubbels) Eisterhold. In 1927, they moved to Stacyville, Iowa where Bud attended Visitation Catholic School. In 1940, Bud’s family moved to Taopi, Minnesota where they continued to farm. Bud served in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Germany from 1954-1956. Bud met his lifetime love Dorothy Felton at a dance at the Terp Ballroom in Austin. They were married on October 12, 1957 and made their home on the farm near Taopi. They moved to Austin in 1969 when Bud began working for Hormel Foods Inc. Together, they raised three children; Rita, David and John. Bud was always a farm boy at heart and had a special fondness for all animals. Bud is survived by his daughter, Rita (Harold) Radke of Dodge Center; son, John (Kellee) Eisterhold of Brownsdale; grandchildren, Nicole (Chad) Musolf of West Concord, Katelynn Eisterhold of Chaska, Deb Radke of Kasson, Paul (Jill) Radke of Zumbrota; great-grandchildren, Jordan Seljeseth and Luke Seljeseth; a brother, Eugene Eisterhold of Little Fork; a sister, Sr. Rita Eisterhold of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and many nieces and nephews. Bud was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Dorothy in 1984; son, David in 1998; two brothers, Jacob and Ambrose Eisterhold; one sister, Marie King; sisters-in-law Josephine Eisterhold, Rosemary Eisterhold, and Rita Eisterhold; and brother-in-laws, Phillip King, Richard Felton, David Felton and Raymond Felton. Bud’s family would like to thank the entire staff at Season’s Hospice House for their incredible care and compassion during his time with them. A Funeral Mass will be at 2:00 pm, Sunday, September 6, 2015 at Queen of Angel’s Catholic Church in Austin with Father Raul Silva officiating. Visitation will be 4-6 pm on Saturday, September 5, 2015 at Mayer Funeral Home and again an hour prior to the funeral mass on Sunday afternoon at the church. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery with military graveside rites performed by the Austin American Legion Post #91. Memorials in Bud’s name may be directed to Season’s Hospice House.
