Evelyn Vogt

Evelyn Irene Vogt, age 90, of Rose Creek passed away Friday, November 1st at Adams Health Care Center surrounded by her loving family. She was born March 17, 1929 in the Elkton area. She moved to Austin at an early age with her parents Hulda and Arthur Schmidt. She graduated from Austin High School. She was united in marriage to Leonard Vogt on June 25, 1949. Their growing family moved to Rose Creek in the spring of 1956 where she raised chickens, flowers and most importantly their 13 children. Evelyn had a great love for her family and was a proud and active member of their church. She enjoyed selling Fuller Brush, delivering flowers and sewing. She made many beautiful quilts for her grand and great grand children. Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents, husband Leonard, several grand and great- grand children and a son-in-law. She is survived by her 13 children, Diana (Dennis) Magnuson of Blooming Prairie, Mary (Peter) Jacobsen of Austin, David Vogt of Rochester, Mark (Mary) Vogt of Nerstrand, Barbara (Brian) Kimm of Pelican Rapids, Beverly (Ronald) Frank of Lyle, Kathy (Steven) Halverson of Ellendale, Steven (Cindy) Vogt of Sargeant, Joseph Vogt of Rose Creek, Peter (LeAnn) Vogt of Blooming Prairie, Anita Farrell of Lyle, Dennis (Melany) Vogt of Caruthers, CA and Ann (Eric) Kunz of Cold Spring. Many Grandchildren and many many Great and Great-Great Grandchildren. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated 1 pm on Wednesday, November 6, 2019 at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Rose Creek with Father Tom Loomis officiating. Friends may call from 5-8 pm on Tuesday at Mayer Funeral Home and also ½ hour before the Mass at the church on Wednesday. Interment will be in St. Peter’s Cemetery.
