Emilio Rae Brandon Salinas, age 1 month and 3 days of Austin, Minnesota, passed away on Monday, January 1, 2024, at Mayo Clinic Hospital Rochester, Saint Marys Campus. Emilio was born on November 29, 2023, in Rochester to Kaylee Gustafson and Victor Salinas. Emilio was a very active baby during pregnancy and his time in the NICU. He loved hearing his dad’s voice when he was in the womb. Emilio loved when his family would visit him, and he got very excited when he heard his poppop’s voice. Emilio had countless books read to him by his grandma, Debra, and his favorite book his mom read to him was “Love You Forever.” Emilio fought so hard and was affectionately called the Tiny Mighty Warrior by everyone who met him. Emilio was very wanted and very loved. He will be forever missed.
Emilio is survived by his parents, Kaylee Gustafson and Victor Salinas; poppop and grandma, Victor Sr. and Debra Salinas; maternal grandparents, Lisa and Dennis Jr. Gustafson; great-grandparents, Alma Mungia and Dennis Gustafson Sr.; aunts and uncles, Travis Gustafson, Nicholas (Linda) Gustafson Sr., Taya Fullilove, Dylan (Lauren) Brekke, Jacqueline Batista, Nora Ewers, Robert Nguyen, Sonya Ewers, Elton Hernandez, and Taylor Jensen; special aunt and uncle, Kai Radford Garcia and Nick Gustafson; many cousins; and fur-siblings. He was preceded in death by his great-grandparents, Dorothy Yadon, Pam and Dale Tellinghuisen, and Robert and Sonya Gajeski; great-great-grandparents, Reynaldo and Maria Salinas; great-uncle, Robert Emilio Lee Ramos; uncle, Brandon Gustafson Sr.; and cousin, Ahziyas Dampha.
