Elizabeth A. Hart, age 88, of Austin, died Thursday, June 19, 2014 at Sacred Heart Care Center. Elizabeth Ann Enright was born July 20, 1925 at St. Olaf Hospital in Austin, Minnesota. She was the third of four children of William J. and Marian R. (Taylor) Enright. Betty lived on a farm in Rose Creek, Minnesota until age three, at which time her family moved to Austin where she lived for the rest of her life. She was baptized at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Rose Creek. During her lifetime she was a member of all three parishes in Austin. Betty was confirmed at St. Augustine, married at Queen of Angels, and was a charter member of St. Edward. Betty attended Columbus Grade School (now St. Augustine), from first through seventh grades, and graduated from Austin High School in 1943. In 1948, Betty married Robert Allen Hart. To their marriage were born four children-David, Barbara, Amy and William. She was the grandmother of ten grandchildren and three great grandchildren. After graduation, Betty worked in the office of the George A. Hormel Company until 1949 and thereafter was involved in many community activities. She was the Welcome Wagon Representative for twenty-nine years, Past President of the Hospital Auxiliary, Past President of the Cotillion Club, a member of the League of Women Voters, and a member of the Austin Country Club for over 45 years where she was in charge of the Bridge Club for twelve years. In her 80th year, Betty underwent cancer surgery and treatment at Mayo Clinic in Rochester. Late in her life she struggled with pulmonary fibrosis which was a condition that affected her breathing. Survivors include her children, David Hart, Barbara (Alan) Anderson, Amy (Duane) Lonergan, and William (Maren) Hart; grandchildren, Kelsey (John) Hilgers, Michael Hart, Angie, Carmen and Brandon Regner, Andrew, Kristen and Matthew Hart, Gina (Charlie) Wentling, Leah (Brad) Klotz; three great grandchildren; brother, Robert Enright. She is preceded in death by her husband, Robert; parents, William and Marian; infant brother, William; sister, Jeanne Enright Schulz; seventeen aunts and uncles and their spouses; and many cousins. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated 1:00 pm on Tuesday, June 24, 2014 at St. Edward’s Catholic Church with Father John Traufler officiating.
