Edith Holly Firestone

Edith Holly Firestone, age 79, of Austin, Minnesota, and formerly of York, Pennsylvania, passed away on Sunday, September 29, 2024, at her home in Austin. Edith was born on November 13, 1944, in York, Pennsylvania, to James Russell and Gertrude Lamanda (McFadden) Firestone. She graduated from William Penn High School in York in 1964. Edith worked as an assistant manager at Family Dollar for many years in York. Edith moved to Austin, Minnesota, ten years ago and made many wonderful friends at Twin Towers where she lived. She enjoyed Bible Study and going out for coffee with her friends from the Towers. She liked playing Bingo, crocheting in her younger years, and making all sorts of candy for holidays. Most of all, Edith was so proud of her children and loved them very much. She had a special place in her heart for her dog, Victor. Edith was loved by everyone who knew her and will be greatly missed. 

Edith is survived by her children, Ed Emminger III of Austin, Lisa Wright of Littlestown, Pennsylvania, and Elizabeth Dobberstein of Highlands Ranch, Colorado; grandchildren, Edwin Emminger IV, Shawn Emminger, Trish Treadway, Jessica Ayala, Lynn Marie Edleblute, Nikole Wright, Joshua Howe, and Danielle Johannes; many great-grandchildren; brother, James Firestone; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Holly Ehrhart; parents, James and Gertrude; sister, Jody Fink; brother, Timothy Firestone; and niece, Bobbi Jo Moreno. 

Celebrations of Edith’s life will be held in Austin, Minnesota, and York, Pennsylvania at a later date. Worlein-Hoff Funeral Homes are assisting the family with arrangements.
