Dorothy Weis

Dorothy Loretta Weis, 92, of Austin, passed away on Thursday, July 9, 2015 at St. Mark’s Lutheran Home in Austin. Dorothy was born in Austin on July 22, 1922 to John Joseph and Clara Elizabeth (Enright) Walsh. She was a graduate of St. Augustine High School in 1940. Dorothy married James F. Weis on July 5, 1943 and had 7 children with the love of her life of 59 years. Dorothy was a member of Queen of Angels Catholic Church and volunteered with the rosary society and was their photographer and historian. She was a coat checker at the Terp Ballroom for several years. She enjoyed traveling with family and friends, fishing, needle crafts and being with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Dorothy was survived by her children; Richard Weis, David Weis, James L. (Rene) Weise, Debra (Rod) Neitzel, Mary (Ernie) Kleckner and Jane (Doran) Rupe; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents; husband James, son Daniel, grandsons Aaron Weis, infant Steven Weis, three sisters and three brothers. A Funeral Mass will be at 11:00 am on Monday, July 13, 2015 at Queen of Angels Catholic Church with Fr. Dale Tupper officiating. Visitation will be 4-7 pm on Sunday, July 12, 2015 at Mayer Funeral Home and again an hour before the funeral mass. A rosary will be recited at 4 pm on Sunday at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
