Donna Novak

Donna Mae (Ugland) Novak, age 72, of Austin, died Monday, March 7, 2016 at St. Mark’s Lutheran Home. Donna was born December 14, 1943 in Lake Mills, Iowa to Nels J. and Clara E. (Larson) Ugland. She grew up in Albert Lea, Minnesota where she graduated from high school. On June 6, 1964 she married Gene J. Novak of Austin at Queen of Angels Catholic Church. The couple has resided in Austin for 52 years. Donna worked as a Customer Service Manager at Kmart for seven years, along with various retail positions. Donna enjoyed gardening, her cats, and being with her family. Survivors include her husband, Gene J. Novak, Austin, MN; sons, Wade J. Novak, Austin, MN, Michael G. Novak, Austin, MN; daughter, Sheila K. (Novak) Endres, Colorado Springs, CO; grandchildren, Joshua Novak, Ashley Ozuna, Corey Novak, Drew Novak, Gavin Larson, Jeffrey Novak, Amanda Novak, Tyler Endres, Michael Endres, Lauren Endres; seven great grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law, Marlin and Merth Ugland, Albert Lea, MN; sister, Karen Finlayson, Council Bluffs, IA; nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, Nels and Clara Ugland; brothers, Leslie Ugland and Norman Ugland. Memorial services will be held 2:00 pm on Friday, March 18, 2016 at Mayer Funeral Home with Chaplain Elizabeth Endicott officiating. The family will visit with friends at a reception following the service at Mayer Funeral Home. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery at a later date.
