Donald Yerhart

Donald A. Yerhart, age 80, of Lansing, died Wednesday, January 12, 2011 at his home. Don was born April 11, 1930 in Waseca, Minnesota to Joseph and Helen (Hurt) Yerhot. On February 12, 1955 he was united in marriage to Darlene L. Yanzer at Queen of Angels Catholic Church in Austin. Don was a retired employee of Hormel Foods having worked there for 36 years, a United States Veteran of service and a member of Our Lady of Loretto Catholic Church in Brownsdale. He loved working on engines, farming and auction sales. Don also had nicknames of "Buck" and "Scottie." Survivors include his wife, Darlene L. Yerhart, Lansing; children, Pamela (Duane) Reineke, New Richland, David Yerhart, Lansing, Paul Yerhart, Lansing, Steven Yerhart, Minneapolis, Angela Yerhart, Hayfield; six grandchildren, David "Butch" Yerhart, James Yerhart, Jeremy Yerhart, Teresa Yerhart, Krista Reineke, Alley Yerhart; five great grandchildren, Nicholas Yerhart, Alishya Yerhart, Michael Bremer, Gage Bremer, Gavin Peterson. He is preceded in death by his brothers, Michael Yerhot, Raymond Yerhot, Bernard Yerhot; sisters, Monica Yerhot, Pauline Gray. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11:00 am on Tuesday, January 18, 2011 at Our Lady of Loretto Catholic Church in Brownsdale with Father Dale Tupper officiating. There will be a 5:30 pm wake service on Monday at Mayer Funeral Home where friends may call from 4-7 pm and also one hour before the service at the church on Tuesday. Interment will be in Lansing Cemetery with military rites by American Legion Post #91 and V.F.W. Post #1216. The casket bearers will be James Yerhart, Jeremy Yerhart, David "Butch" Yerhart, Randy Yerhot, Todd Yerhot, Bradley Yerhot.
