Donald Everett Krebsbach, age 83, of Austin, died Thursday, April 29, 2010 at the Austin Medical Center surrounded by his children. Don was born May 15, 1926 to Aloysius and Sadie (Haralson) Krebsbach in Adams, Minnesota. He graduated from Adams High School. Don entered the U.S. Navy and served in WWII. On September 2,1950 he was united in marriage to Dorothy Baasch at Queen of Angels Catholic Church in Austin. Don worked at Hormel Foods for 44 years, retiring in 1984. Don enjoyed the Minnesota Vikings and Twins. He was privileged to go on an Honor Flight to Washington D.C. to observe the WWII Memorial. Don was a member of the Austin V.F.W. Post #1216, the Adams American Legion, Queen of Angels Catholic Church and the Eagles Club. Survivors include five daughters and sons-in-law, Marlene (David) Hannam, Austin, Connie Arens and John Arens, Brownsdale, Jean (Royce) Brandvold, Austin, Leanne (James) Bunkers, Lake Field, IA, Karla (Doug) Caruso, Austin; a son and daughter-in-law, Ronald (Dawn) Krebsbach, Austin; 11 grandchildren, Andrew, Lora, Jason, Nicholas, Hannah, Justin, Brandon, Jeffrey, Brian, Ian and Sydney; six great grandchildren; three sisters, Vivian Hall, Angie Hall, Marylu Houle, all of Austin; two brothers, Carl (Adeline) Krebsbach, Red Wing, Lawrence (Doris) Krebsbach, Austin. He is preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy on September 8, 1993; son, Brian on October 31, 1992; parents; six brothers; one sister. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated 10:30 am on Monday, May 3, 2010 at Queen of Angels Catholic Church with Father Dale Tupper officiating. There will be a 6:30 pm wake service on Sunday at Mayer Funeral Home where friends may call from 4-7 pm and also one hour before the service at the church on Monday. Interment will be in Oakwood Cemetery with military rites by American Legion Post #91 and V.F.W. Post #1216. The honorary casket bearer will be Wes Viktora. The casket bearers will be David Hannam, John Arens, Royce Brandvold, James Bunkers, Douglas Caruso, David Larson. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.
