Dinorah Bartell

Dinorah J. “Nora” Bartell, age 95, of Austin, passed away on Sunday November 9, 2014 at Prairie Manor Nursing Home in Blooming Prairie. Nora was born September 18, 1919 in Costa Rica, Central America one of 16 children to Bernabe and Amelia Jimenez. Nora was a Physical Education teacher and opera singer and had her own radio show in Costa Rica. Nora came to this country to be with her youngest and closest sister, Evy Pedersen. She married Donald N. Bartell of Austin. Nora enjoyed her life in the U.S. with her husband, sister and her family. Loving survivors include her niece, Lorelei (Rick) Bliss; a great niece, Lyndsey Waletzke (Jeff Grothe); a great-great nephew, Dominic Gartner; and two great-great nieces, Star and Daisy Grothe; all of Austin. She is preceded in death by her husband; parents; 15 siblings; and several members of her large family. Private services were held on Friday, November 14, 2014 at Mayer Funeral Home.
