Dennis Dean “Denny” Berhow, age 78 of Pleasant Grove, Minnesota, was called home to be with the Lord for all eternity on Thursday, June 11, 2020, at Mayo Clinic Hospital Rochester, Saint Marys Campus. He was born February 23, 1942 in Austin, Minnesota, to Carrol and Mathilda (Krantz) Berhow. He lived most his life in Pleasant Grove. Denny graduated from Austin High School in 1961. He worked at Winona State College and later at Strains’s Bus Company before retiring.
In July of 1964, Denny married Norma Onstad. They had three children, Timothy, Randy, and Sheila. They were later divorced. On September 16, 1972, Denny married the love of his life, Sandra “Sandy” Noble. They celebrated 47 happy years together. He loved his wife and rarely was one seen without the other.
Denny’s interests were fishing, especially at Happiness Resort on Ten Mile Lake, cribbage, shooting pool, nice cars, western movies, exercising at DAHLC, and mostly spending time with his family. He was meticulous in caring for his vehicles. He was known as “Uncle Denny” to many more than just his nieces and nephews. Denny liked to tell jokes. He is noted for his favorite sayings when leaving some place, “Where ever you go, there you are,” and “If you’re not alone, you’re with someone,” and “Glad you got to see me.”
Denny is survived by his loving wife, Sandy Berhow of Pleasant Grove, MN; son, Randy Becker of Pine Grove, CA; daughter, Sheila (Craig) Muller of Hudson, WI; grandchildren, Joey Becker and Brody Muller; sisters, LaVonne Husemoller, Linda (Marshall) Halvorson, and Janice (James) Benesh all of Austin; sisters-in-law, Sr. Donna McPhail of Riceville, IA, Marie King of Austin, MN, and Carol Schlichter of Austin, MN; numerous nieces and nephews, great-great nieces and nephews, and cousins. Denny will be remembered as a kind and thoughtful husband, father, grandpa, brother, uncle, and friend. He will be forever missed by those lives he touched and be in our hearts and memories forever.
