Dennis Howard Underdahl

Dennis H. Underdahl, age 64, of Austin, Minnesota, passed away on Tuesday, April 22, 2025, at Mayo Clinic Hospital Rochester, Saint Marys Campus. Dennis was born on June 7, 1960, in Austin, Minnesota, to Donald and Patricia (Rasmussen) Underdahl. He graduated from Austin High School. Following graduation, he worked for 28 years at Crenlo in Rochester as a certified welder. He then worked at Banfield Elementary School helping supervise students for 17 years. Dennis was baptized and confirmed at Queen of Angels Catholic Church and was a member of First Lutheran Church in Blooming Prairie. He also belonged to the American Legion Post 91 and VFW Post 1216, both in Austin. From an early age, Dennis had a love of cars, especially drag racing. He had a special 1976 Chevy Laguna S3 that took Dennis and his family to all their important events. Together, Dennis and Rhonda bowled for many years. He also enjoyed camping with his family in Lanesboro and loved watching WWE wrestling. We will remember Dennis for the kind and welcoming man he was, who always had a great sense of humor, smirk on his face, and glint in his eyes.

Dennis is survived by his wife, Rhonda, of Austin; sons, Dalton Underdahl and Dillon Underdahl, of Austin; grandchildren, MaKenna, Colton, and Penelope; siblings, Don (Peggy) Underdahl of Austin, Sue Lechner of Charlotte, North Carolina, and Dwayne (Anna) Underdahl of Rochester; siblings-in-law, Cathy Boever, Terry (Barb) Schneider, Cheryl (Larry) Shoden, and Brenda (Scott) Thompson; stepmother-in-law, Darlene Schneider of Albert Lea; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, Don (Pat) Underdahl; father-in-law, Mel Schneider, and mother-in-law, Mae Schneider; brothers-in-law, Randall Schneider and Timothy Boever; sister-in-law, Karen Schneider; and many other relatives.

The memorial service for Dennis will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, April 28, 2025, at First Lutheran Church in Blooming Prairie. The visitation will be held from 2:00-5:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 27, at Worlein-Hoff Funeral Home in Austin and will continue for one hour prior to the service at church on Monday. Interment will be held at a later date in State Line Cemetery, Northwood, Iowa. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to First Lutheran Church in Blooming Prairie or the Mower County Humane Society. Worlein-Hoff Funeral Homes are assisting the family with arrangements.
