It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Debra Jean Amdahl, our beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, on January 3, 2024. Debbie was born to Blaine and Patricia (Doherty) Amdahl on January 21, 1960, in Austin, Minnesota, where she attended school and raised her family. Debbie was a selfless woman who always put the needs of others before her own. Even in illness, she did not complain and alluded to the many people worse off than her. Debbie enjoyed gardening, thrifting, and the Minnesota Vikings. Above all else she loved and was so proud of her children and grandchildren.
Debbie is survived by her daughter, Angela (Sourat) Srisomphou; son, Tim Amdahl; grandchildren, Olivia (Matt), Nick (Lexi), Willy, Matthew (Savanna), and Lucas; great-grandaughter, Leilanni; siblings, Brad (Jane) Amdahl, Scott (Angie) Amdahl, and Colleen (Scott) Nelson; aunts and uncle, Judy (Steve) Rumbaugh, Ruth Amdahl, and Darrell Amdahl; nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends; and two dogs, Lucky and Teddy. She was preceded in death by her loving parents, Patricia and Blaine; infant sister, Barbara; maternal and paternal grandparents; uncles; cousins; and dear friend, Joan Cheney.
Debbie’s family would like to thank the staff of St. Marys Hospital Emergency Room and Station 10-3 for their care in her final days. To honor Debbie’s love of the Minnesota Vikings the family is requesting guests wear Vikings attire to her service.
