Dawn Devriendt

Dawn Christine DeVriendt age 65 of Austin, died Wednesday, May 6, 2020 surrounded by her husband, sons and grandchildren. She fought a mighty war in her battle against cancer. Dawn was born January 26, 1955 in Austin, MN to John and Virginia (Mauer) Nystel. She graduated from Austin High School in 1973. Dawn married Bob DeVriendt on November 10, 1973. They were blessed with three very handsome sons, Jason, Rodney and Christopher. Dawn worked for a couple of charities and Target. She left Target shortly after becoming a first time Grandma. She was the best Mom, Grandma, Wife, Aunt, Sister and Friend the world could have known. She is survived by her husband, Bob DeVriendt of Austin, MN; sons, Jason & Sabrina DeVriendt of Austin, MN, Rodney & Joe DeVriendt of Encino, CA and Chris & Mandy DeVriendt of Austin, MN; Four very precious grandchildren, Caitlin & Ashley DeVriendt of Austin, MN, Annabelle & Toby DeVriendt of Austin, MN; three brothers, Don (Mary Jo), Dave and Wayne Nystel all of Austin, MN; sister, Linda (Terry) Sprandel of Austin, MN; special nieces, nephews and special friend Betty Jean Wytaske of Austin, MN. She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers and a nephew. Services honoring and celebrating Dawn’s life will be held at a later date.
