David Robert Vietor

David Robert Vietor, age 77, of Austin, Minnesota, passed away Sunday, December 3, 2023, at Sacred Heart Care Center in Austin. David was born on December 3, 1946, to parents Robert and Inez (Howden) Vietor in Hayfield, Minnesota. He attended school in Brownsdale, Austin, and Elkton High School. He enlisted in the Army in 1964 during the Vietnam War. Following his honorable discharge in 1967 he joined the National Guard. He worked for Hormel Food for 15 years and worked as a security officer for various businesses in Reno, Nevada.  David enjoyed family get togethers and spending time with people. He rode a motorcycle and had many good times on his Harley Davidson motorcycle. David will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

David is survived by his daughter, Karrie Anne (Gary) Maier; five grandchildren, Kyle Riegel, Reece Riegel, Brenna Thompson, Will Vietor, and Cole Vietor; siblings, Nancy Crosby, Joan (Rudy) Pargas, Linda (Joel) Blom, Bruce (Lori) Vietor, William (Debbie) Vietor, and Timothy (Mary Ellen) Vietor; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Inez Vietor; son, Casey David Vietor; brother-in-law, Charles Crosby; and nephew, Bill Blom.
