Dale Arlen Pechacek, age 71, of Austin, Minnesota, passed away Monday, January 1, 2024, at his home in Austin. Dale was born on March 14, 1952, in Blooming Prairie, Minnesota, to Emil and Gladys (Wanous) Pechacek. He graduated from Kenyon High School in Kenyon, Minnesota. Following graduation, he attended Austin VoTech and received certifications in farm mechanics and office product repairs. On September 26, 1987, Dale married Cynthia “Cindy” Krebsbach at Crane Chapel in Austin. The couple was blessed with three children. Dale was a repair technician for most of his working career; he worked for J&K Office Products in Austin and retired from Med City Mobility (later named Reliable Medical) in 2021. He attended Queen of Angels Catholic Church with Cindy, and he was a member of Moland Lutheran Church near West Concord, Minnesota. Dale assisted Cindy with setting events up at the VFW and Eagles for both Auxiliaries and was always looking forward to being Cindy’s Uber driver in his John Deer Gator. Dale was a member of the Austin Senior Center. He enjoyed camping at state parks, fishing, riding motorcycles, and watching the Vikings. Dale was a modern-day MacGyver – he loved tinkering, building new tools, and creating anything he could to make life easier. He also enjoyed getting together with his farm mechanic class every year; this past year had been their 50-year reunion. Dale also used his skills to volunteer every year at the Farming of Yesteryear in Kiester, Minnesota. Most of all, Dale loved to help others and was always willing to pitch in. He loved his family above all else and was always looking forward to the next holiday with them. He loved all our pets and even his grand dogs. He was the kind of man that appreciated everyone and everything. He will be greatly missed.
Dale is survived by his wife, Cindy of Austin; two sons, Shane (Sarah) Pechacek of Andover, Minnesota, and Ryan (Erica Williams) Pechacek of Austin; daughter, Rochele (Mark) Plummer and grandson, Jacob Plummer of Austin. Also, in-laws, nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Emil and Gladys; twin brother, Dennis; sister, Doreen Kelley; and grandparents.
